Annie Lennox
| Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954, in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother as is Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox won a scholarship award to study at London's Royal Academy of Music for three years. Lennox was able to live with the stipend she received from her students as she worked part-time. Lennox as she was studying in the Royal Academy of Music in London, was dissatisfied with her performance compared to that of her classmates. She started to think about different options. Lennox was a flute player in the 1976 group called Dragons Playground. However, she left prior to her group being asked to participate in I.T.V.'s talent show New Faces. She was the main vocalist for The Tourists a British pop group from 1977 until 1980. In this band, she made friends with Dave Stewart and together they formed their duo Eurythmics. Lennox worked on her solo debut record Diva. The album was released in 1993. It became a huge hit both critically and commercially. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album was released in October 2014. The C.D. Lennox has chosen her favorite jazz, blues and soul songs. Lepidoptera features four keyboard tracks. The E.P. First album of hers, Now I'm Letting You Go... was released as the perfect accompaniment to her work of art at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. The Tourists gained some minor acknowledgement for their and Dave Stewart's work throughout the 1970s. They would go on, during the 80s, to become the popular duo Eurythmics. The year 1992 was the year Lennox started her own solo career, releasing their debut record Diva with a variety of successful songs, such as Why and Walking through Broken Glass.
